Easter in Nakuru

The afternoon of Maundy Thursday the group of children taking dance lessons with Miss Nancy gave a recital at the baby house.  Hope and Lucy are in the front row, right end, Julia is at end of second row, right, Kate is behind Julia, and Dakota is in the back by Miss Nancy.  They did a great job dancing to a worship song.  Proud of my girls.
On Friday we had our party at Miss Trena's house.  She had lots of party food with cute riddle cards and labels.

The girls helped to dye some of the eggs for Saturday's egg hunt.  Eggs are brown so the resulting colors are more muted but still pretty.  Miss Brie, Miss Trena, and Miss Bekah did most of the coloring though.  It was a lot of eggs!

Saturday morning, Trinity Vineyard sponsored an egg hunt open to all.  They had a craft for the children to work on -Lucy above, Dakota helping Hope below.

Azy is all boy - loving to dig and play in the dirt.  Below is Trena with Julia and Josie before the hunt began.

Found one-once Josie got the idea she was all in.  Dakota and Kate compare baskets.
Celebrating Easter here was a little like being home.  Eggs and hunts, baskets and celebration.  We joined together to worship at Trinity Vineyard on Sunday.  Afterwards the Sammons family hosted dinner at their home, providing meat and drinks while everyone contributed a side dish and dessert.  Lots of yummy food as the small group of family members, fellow missionaries, and friends gathered together to declare - He is Risen, He is Risen indeed!

Today, Easter Monday was family day at Haven of Hope.  Those who work here brought their children to join them for the day.  We had school, so I just had to remind the girls we would join in after class.  Wonderful lunch served by the aunties, a paper airplane contest for the men and boys, and lots of playing rounded out the day.

We were blessed by our third heavy rain later in the afternoon.

So much to praise God for and to be thankful for this Easter weekend.  I pray that you also had time to rejoice and celebrate His gifts.  Happy Easter!
