First and Third

Some firsts are exciting, breath-taking, to be remembered.  Some firsts are hard to experience.  This past week those who attend Trinity Vineyard experienced the first death of someone they knew and worshipped with each week.  He leaves behind a family of two young children and his wife.  I have learned about how the culture deals with death, and what is expected of the family, the difficulties when there are tribal divisions, and prayed Romans 8:31 "If God is for us, who can ever be against us?"  We here continue to pray for the family, for the many bumps in this road they are traveling, and that soon peace will be restored.

We experience joy - in celebrating the third birthday of Moses.

 Susan helps Moses to cut his cake - we cut cake into very small pieces so many people can have a bit.

Moses waited patiently even though he wasn't feeling his best.  When Susan told him he could help to pass the cake out, he reached in and grabbed a piece from the middle, which of course went right into his mouth.

 This is one of the families that joins us for Bible Study each week and are part of the homeschooling group.  They came to celebrate Moses' birthday and brought him a little gift.

The person Moses loves to see, the one he runs to when he is in trouble with the aunties, the one who loves him very much - Brie.  Brie will be leaving soon to return to America after almost three years of serving with His Cherished Ones.  She and Moses have a close relationship.
